New ‘1883’ Trailer Unveils a Brutal ‘Yellowstone’ Prequel Series

Paramount Network

The full-length trailer has arrived for 1883, showcasing a lot more footage from the upcoming Yellowstone prequel series.

Country music artists and real-life married couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill lead the series, along with Oscar-nominated actor Sam Elliott. We head back to early untamed America, following the Dutton family as they journey west through the Great Plains in the hopes of finding a better future in Montana. Considering the period… yeah, things aren’t exactly peaceful out there.

Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan is creator here and also serves as executive producer and writer. John Linson, Art Linson, David Glasser, Ron Burkle and Bob Yari also exec produce.

Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett and Billy Bob Thornton are among the cast of the western, which sure looks like a big, promising production, and it doesn’t look to be holding back on the brutality either. Things are certainly looking good for Yellowstone‘s many fans; apart from 1883, there’s another planned spin-off on the way – 6666, set in the present day on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas.

In the U.S., 1883 will premiere as a Paramount Network special simulcast event on Sunday, December 19th, following episode 8 of Yellowstone‘s fourth season. 1883 also premieres on streaming service Paramount+ the same day.
