First ‘1883’ Trailer: Faith Hill & Tim McGraw in Epic ‘Yellowstone’ Prequel Series

Paramount+

Our first look at 1883, Paramount+’s upcoming prequel series to hit drama Yellowstone, was dropped during the Yellowstone season 4 premiere.

Faith Hill, Sam Elliott, and Tim McGraw lead the series, which takes us back to the late 1800s as the Dutton family embarks on an arduous journey through the Great Plains of untamed America. As the official synopsis describes it, 1883 “is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land—Montana.”

Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan is creator here and is also on board as executive producer, writer and director. John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, and Bob Yari are also on the EP team.

1883 sure has a much-lauded series to follow – and the trailer below suggests it could very well be a winner. The series, which also stars Billy Bob Thornton, Isabel May, and LaMonica Garrett, will premiere on Paramount+ on December 19th.
