‘And Just Like That’ Trailer: Carrie, Miranda & Charlotte Return (without Samantha) in New ‘Sex and the City’ Series

The official trailer has arrived for And Just Like That…, the upcoming Sex and the City series that reunites Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis as NYC ladies Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte, respectively.

The new chapter catches up with these three friends as they continue to do their best to navigate the ups and down of life, which has become even more complicated now that they find themselves in their 50s. Fans will reunite with a number of returning characters, including Mr. Big (Chris North) and his ex-wife, Natasha Naginsky (Bridget Moynahan), Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler), Anthony Marentino (Mario Cantone), and Steve Brady (David Eigenberg), among others.

As has been much discussed, Kim Cattrall has not returned as Samantha. There have been various reports of clashes among the leads over the years, and Cattrall herself hasn’t been shy about her problems with Parker. Either way, Samantha isn’t here. As for how they’ll explain it: Daily Mail sources claim…

“Sending her to Los Angeles wasn’t an option as we’d done that in the first movie, so having her character based in London really was the perfect way to keep her alive and explain her absence. […] Viewers will learn that she is thriving in England even though she has fallen out with Carrie.”

Parker, Davis and Nixon are among the executive producers, alongside Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky, John Melfi and Michael Patrick King. Writers include King, Samantha Irby, Rachna Fruchbom, Keli Goff, Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky.

And Just Like That…, also starring Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, and Karen Pittman, will be kicking off with a double episode premiere on Binge in Australia and HBO Max in the U.S. on December 9th. New episodes will drop weekly, until the episode 8 finale.
