The screenwriter has been chosen for Marvel‘s third Ant-Man movie.
The size-changing hero’s third solo instalment is to be written by Jeff Loveness, who’s a writer and co-producer on the hugely acclaimed animated sci-fi comedy series Rick and Morty. Loveness has also worked as a writer on various Marvel comics featuring characters such as Spider-Man, Captain America, Groot and Wolverine.
THR broke the news, reporting that Loveness is currently writing the screenplay as this deal was made just prior to Hollywood’s COVID-19 shutdown.
Considering the current climate, Marvel has yet to officially announce Ant-Man 3 as a film on its upcoming slate. Understandable, considering Disney is busy rescheduling its current line-up and productions on a number of upcoming projects have been pushed back or are on hold indefinitely. Thor: Love and Thunder and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness were due to start filming this year, but they’re currently on a holding pattern until things clear up.
Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed will be staying on as director on the third film, with both Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly expected to be returning as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope Van Dyne/Wasp respectively. Stay tuned.
