The first trailer has arrived for Marvel‘s Ant-Man and the Wasp.
After Edgar Wright left Ant-Man following a long development period, many were worried about what Marvel would deliver for their first movie focusing on the size-changing superhero. Well, Ant-Man wasn’t just a fine film, it was downright great. So, here we are, three years later, and no surprise – the sequel looks awesome.
Director Peyton Reed returns at the helm for the follow-up, which as the title suggests, finds Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne taking on a much bigger role as Ant-Man’s new superhero partner, The Wasp. The two team up to enter the Quantum Realm on the search for Hope’s mother, Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). Walton Goggins and Laurence Fishburne are on board as villains, playing Sonny Burch and Dr. Bill Foster aka Goliath, respectively.
While the trailer itself doesn’t give away much in the way of plot, it does show off some nifty action and an all-round fun vibe. Bring it.
It’s an exciting year for MCU fans. We have Black Panther in around two weeks, Avengers: Infinity War a bit over three months later, and then Ant-Man and the Wasp arrives in Australia on July 5 and opens in the U.S. on July 6.
