‘Armor Wars’: Writer Chosen for Don Cheadle Marvel Series

Marvel Studios

The writer has been chosen for planned Don Cheadle-led series Armor Wars, just one of the live-action Marvel shows heading to Disney+ following WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki.

On board to pen the series is Yassir Lester, whose credits include HBO’s Girls, where he worked as a staff writer and story editor, and Black Monday, the Showtime series starring Cheadle.  As reported by Deadline, Lester impressed Cheadle and execs with his pitch.

Armor Wars will find Cheadle reprising his MCU role as James Rhodes, the close friend of Tony Stark who took on the superhero title of War Machine after embracing a Stark tech suit. No plot details are yet known, apart from the teaser question Marvel revealed when it first announced the series: What happens if Tony Stark’s tech falls into the wrong hands?

Among the live-action Marvel series ahead for Disney+: Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion and Ironheart.
