Award-winning filmmaker Sean Baker (Tangerine) delivered a film we called “a compelling and thoroughly absorbing viewing experience” in our review. Trust us, if you haven’t seen the film, be sure to put it on your ‘must watch’ list. And if you have, you’ll likely know why the critics were raving.
Mark that date: The Florida Project is yours to own from April 18.
Directed and co-written by Sean Baker (Tangerine) THE FLORIDA PROJECT is the story of precocious six year-old Moonee (Brooklynn Prince) and her ragtag group of friends whose summer break is filled with childhood wonder, possibility and a sense of adventure. Living at a motel in the shadow of Disney World, Moonee is seemingly oblivious to the struggles of adults around her, including mother Halley (Bria Vinaite), and motel manager/father-figure Bobby (Willem Dafoe). A vibrant yet heartbreaking portrait of life on the fringe, the film has continued to garner critical acclaim since its debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
