Bill Murray Has a Role in the Ghostbusters Reboot

Rumours that Bill Murray will be appearing in Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters film have been circling for a while now, but it’s been confirmed.

THR reports that Murray will indeed be appearing in the franchise’s next installment, and Birth.Movies.Death has gone a step further and revealed Murray’s exact role.

Potential spoilers ahead.

BMD says Murray is going to be playing Martin Heis, “a professional supernatural debunker” who sets out to prove that our female Ghostbusters are fakes. Apparently the part was written specifically for Murray and is specified as being so in the script itself.

The Ghostbusters reboot is to star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as the new ghost-hunting team, with Chris Hemsworth playing their receptionist and Andy Garcia playing the mayor of New York.

The film is set to hit the U.S. on July 15, 2016.
