The first trailer has been released for Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance, the upcoming film from director Alejandro González Iñárritu (Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel, Biutiful). The film sees Michael Keaton star as a washed-up actor who once played an iconic superhero. He must overcome his ego and family troubles as he mounts a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim his past glory. So far, so damn good. This brilliant teaser trailer shows off what looks to be a decidedly different film for Alejandro González Iñárritu, and one that’ll see Keaton put in one hell of a performance. There’s a Black Swan type of vibe going on here, although there’s much more humour than that film. Watch the Birdman trailer if only to see Keaton fight an underwear-wearing Edward Norton.
Starring Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Ryan, and Andrea Riseborough.
