A fantastic new Birdman trailer has been released, giving us an even better look at the latest film from director Alejandro González Iñárritu (Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel, Biutiful). Birdman sees Michael Keaton star as an actor who was once known for playing the titular superhero, and who struggles to mount a Broadway play to bring back his former glory. This looks brilliant, with what appears to be a damn fine performance by Keaton. The parallels between Keaton and the film’s character are obvious, making the whole thing even more interesting. It reminds us a little of two Darren Aronofsky films, The Wrestler and Black Swan, which is a damn good thing in our eyes. The new trailer explores Keaton’s character a little more, giving us a glimpse into what looks like a pretty out-there mental descent. There’s a great supporting cast too. Seriously, we can’t wait for this one.
Birdman also stars Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts.
