JUNE 1

  • THE SECRET AGENT – MINI-SERIES – NEW TO BRITBOX

A three part mini-series created by the makers of Line of Duty. Travel back to Victorian era London, 1886 with The Secret Agent. Toby Jones (Detectorists, Wayward Pines) plays Verloc, an owner of a seedy shop in London’s Soho, who secretly doubles as a spy for the Russian embassy.

 

Based on Joseph Conrad’s 1907 classic psychological thriller novel, this three-part series sees Verloc’s spy targets drag his family into a tragic terror plot.

 

Also starring Vicky McClure (Line of Duty, Broadchurch), Stephen Graham (This is England, Line of Duty, Boardwalk Empire), David Dawson (Luther, The Last Kingdom) and Ian Hart (Harry Potter and the
Philosopher’s Stone).

JUNE 3
  • INTRUDER – EXCLUSIVE TO BRITBOX, AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE

One awful decision leads a couple down a dangerous path of lies, corruption and revenge in this contemporary psychological thriller. Affluent, high-flying liberals Rebecca and Sam live an idyllic life in their luxurious coastal house – until their paradise is shattered one night when two teenagers break into their home. In a rage, Sam kills one of the intruders, who is trying to escape. Realising that Sam actually murdered the intruder, not in self-defence, the couple hatch a plan to restage the crime scene and change their stories before the police arrive. At first, they seem to have got away with it, however, as the investigation intensifies, their cover-up starts to unravel. Exactly how far are Rebecca and Sam willing to go to protect the life they have created?

Using Victoria’s own diaries, other contemporary accounts, household records of stately homes and contemporary illustrations, Wonnacott examines art and furniture seen by and commented on by Queen Victoria, as Shrager examines how servants coped with the demands of a royal visit.

A serendipitous romcom featuring an A-list cast. Nancy is a single 34 year old woman played by Lake Bell (It’s Complicated, No Strings Attached) who is pessimistic about love. Nancy visits London for her parent’s 40th wedding anniversary, however on the train Nancy unforseeably takes the place of a stranger’s blind date which leads to her finding the perfect boyfriend.
