Bullet Train, the upcoming action movie from Deadpool 2 and Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch, has added Oscar winner Bullock to its already impressive cast. Bullock joins lead star Pitt and an ensemble that includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Michael Shannon, Joey King, Zazie Beetz, and Andrew Koji.
The plot, which is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by best-selling author Kotaro Isaka, follows a group of hitmen and assassins on board a bullet train. The professional killers – Pitt’s character: code name ‘Ladybug’ – soon realise that their missions are, in fact, related to each other. Game on. The film is described as something along the lines of Speed (which also had Bullock) meets Liam Neeson-on-a-plane flick Non-Stop.
The script originally came from Zak Olkewicz, who’s also writing the second of Netflix’s upcoming Fear Street movies, adaptation of R.L. Stine’s books. Leitch is reportedly now overseeing Bullet Train‘s rewrite.
Leitch is certainly busy. Apart from being in production on Bullet Train, he’s lined up to direct Will Smith in a memory loss movie titled Fast & Loose. He’s also attached, although it has been quiet on this front, to direct graphic novel adaptation Undying Love and video game adaptation The Division.
