Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Central Intelligence, the Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart-starring action-comedy set for release mid-2016.
Big Johnson plays Bob, a one-time bullied geek who grew up to become a lethal CIA agent. He enlists the help of Little Hart’s accountant, who was once the popular guy at school, in order to save the world.
There’s not much plot given away in this first trailer, apart from Johnson needing Hart’s “skill-set to save the entire free world,” but there’s enough chemistry shown off between the leads to suggest a fun time. Fingers crossed.
Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, known for Dodgeball and We’re the Millers.
Central Intelligence, which also stars Aaron Paul and Amy Ryan, opens in the U.S. on June 17 and in Australia on June 30.
Synopsis for Central Intelligence:
The story follows a one-time bullied geek who grew up to be a lethal CIA agent (Johnson), coming home for his high school reunion. Claiming to be on a top-secret case, he enlists the help of the former “big man on campus” (Hart), now an accountant who misses his glory days. But before the staid numbers-cruncher realizes what he’s getting into, it’s too late to get out, as his increasingly unpredictable new friend drags him through a world of shoot-outs, double-crosses and espionage that could get them both killed in more ways than he can count.
