Chloë Grace Moretz Replaces Dakota Fanning in ‘Brain on Fire’

Chloe-Grace-Moretz

Chloë Grace Moretz is to replace Dakota Fanning as the lead of Brain on Fire, an indie film adaptation of Susannah Cahalan’s bestselling memoir.

The Wrap reports that Moretz is moving into the role after scheduling issues forced Fanning to move on.

Charlize Theron is producing Brain on Fire, a drama that tells the true story of a girl who descended into madness after being hit with a rare brain-affecting condition. Violent episodes and delusions ensued, while many doctors misdiagnosed her condition as the result of schizophrenia and excessive partying.

Will Poulter (We’re the Millers) and Thomas Mann (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) have been cast as the film’s male leads.

Irish filmmaker Gerard Barrett (Pilgrim Hill) adapted Cahalan‘s memoir and is attached to direct.
