Take a look at the new trailer released for upcoming series City on a Hill, boasting Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as executive producers.

Set in Boston in the early ’90s, the series follows assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge, Straight Outta Compton), who arrives from Brooklyn with a determination to make a difference in a city rife with criminals, corruption and racism. He forms an unlikely alliance with Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon), a venerated yet corrupt FBI agent, to take down a family of armored car robbers.

Affleck came up with the idea for the series, with Chuck MacLean (Boston Strangler) credited as creator and executive producer. Showrunner/EP is Tom Fontana, a television veteran whose credits include Homicide: Life on the Street, Oz, Copper and Borgia. Looks like a quality drama series, with a strong cast and a strong sense of time and place. It’s one hell of a time for television, and it’s getting harder to stand out with all the quality on offer. Fingers crossed for this one.

City on a Hill, also starring Jonathan Tucker, Mark O’Brien, Lauren E. Banks Amanda Clayton, Cathy Moriarty, Kevin Dunn and Jill Hennessy, premieres on Showtime on June 16 and hits Stan in Australia on June 17, with new episodes weekly.
