‘Copshop’ Trailer: Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo & More Shoot ‘Em Up in Wild Action-Thriller

STXfilms

Open Road Films has released the trailer for Copshop, an action-thriller starring Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo, Alexis Louder and Toby Huss.

Directed and co-written by Joe Carnahan (Narc, Smokin’ Aces, The Grey), the film has Grillo playing a con artist who, in an effort to evade a hitman (Butler) on his tail, decides to punch a tough rookie cop (Louder) to get himself locked up in a small-town police station. There are, of course, more than a few wrinkles in store for this conman.

The trailer below suggests a fun, bonkers flick with Carnahan’s typically over-the-top badasses and gunplay, and with Butler, Grillo and co. more than willing to chew up the scenery. Could be a good time here!

Copshop will be hitting US cinemas on September 17th.

Official synopsis for Copshop:

Screaming through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden Crown Vic, wily con artist Teddy Murretto (Frank Grillo) hatches a desperate plan to hide out from lethal hitman Bob Viddick (Gerard Butler): He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) to get himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station. But jail can’t protect Murretto for long. Viddick schemes his own way into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can complete his mission. When the arrival of a competing assassin (Toby Huss) ignites all-out mayhem, mounting threats force Viddick to get creative if he wants to finish the job and escape the explosive situation.
