Darren Aronofsky May Direct Channing Tatum in Evel Knievel Biopic

Well, this could be very interesting.

Darren Aronofsky, known for Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan, and last year’s Noah, could soon be directing Channing Tatum in an Evel Knievel biopic starring Channing Tatum.

The Tracking Board reported that Aronofsky has replaced Peter Perg (Hancock, Lone Survivor), who has dropped off for unknown reason, at the helm of the project.

Deadline confirmed that Aronofsky and Tatum are both circling the project and that it may be happening, but pointed out that they are both in early negotiations.

One of the best known stuntman entertainers of all time, Evel Knievel made a name for himself in the 60s and 70s by, among many other stunts, jumping all matter of things, including mountain lions and cars, on his motorcycle.

8 Mile and The Fighter screenwriter Scott Silver has handed in a re-write of a screenplay originally penned by Magic Mike writer Reid Carolin.

We’ll keep you informed on how this one develops.
