Deadpool‘s smart-ass marketing campaign shows no sign of slowing down.
An Australia Day-focused promo has been released ahead of the nation’s public holiday, set to take to place on January 26.
After providing a few reasons of why he fits in with Australia, our titular merc says there’s one thing he can’t forgive: X- Men Origins – Wolverine. Thankfully, he’s not referring at all to the beloved Aussie export that is Hugh Jackman, just the movie itself.
“The movie, that was a career low for me. You understand.”
Indeed, that movie did no favours for anyone connected to it. It’s a hell of a move, flipping the bird to a past movie from the same studio, but it fits in with the film’s character and tone perfectly. Fingers crossed Deadpool works as a good career move for both Ryan Reynolds and the character itself.
Deadpool, also starring Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapicic, and Leslie Uggams, hits Australia on February 11 and the U.S. on February 12.
