Watch: Deadpool & Celine Dion in Music Video for ‘Deadpool 2’ Song “Ashes”

Because hell to the yes, that’s why.

It’s one of those things that you never thought you’d want to see, and now that you have, perhaps life is just that little bit better. Perhaps, the sun is shining a little brighter. Perhaps… I didn’t get enough sleep last night.

The Deadpool 2 soundtrack features a song from Celine Dion. Yes, one of the finest voices in the biz… is Ryan Reynolds, but Dion is known to hold a bit of a note as well. Check out the music video released for “Ashes,” which reminds of the type of ballad, music video-marketing focus that used to be popular back in the day – remember “How Do I Live?” being nominated for an Oscar, and for Con Air of all movies!?

The music vid below isn’t quite as joke-filled as you’d expect, but it’s nevertheless a brilliant cross-over idea from 20th Century Fox’s marketing team, who are following the first film’s stand-out campaign with another winning run.

Deadpool 2 will open May 16 in Australia and May 18 in the US.

Deadpool 2‘s synopsis (seriously, they’re still sticking with this):

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Miami’s hottest bartender, while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
