‘Disjointed’ Trailer: Kathy Bates Gets High in Netflix’s Pot Sitcom

If you’re fan of pot-infused comedies, you may be interested in this upcoming Netflix sitcom. Then again, if you can’t stand laugh tracks and potentially cringy humour, well…

Take a look at the trailer released for Disjointed, a sitcom starring Oscar winner Kathy Bates as a lifelong advocate for weed legalisation who starts opening a dispensary in washington, Ruth’s Alternative Caring. Joining her are three “budtenders” (played by Dougie Baldwin, Elizabeth Ho and Elizabeth Alderfer), her twenty-something year old son (Aaron Moten) and a troubled security guard (Tone Bell). Without revealing any possible spoilers of the show, opening a cannabis dispensary can entail a lot of hard work and sacrifice. And we wonder whether Bates’ character in the show decided to enlist the help of somewhere similar to Bakedlink to help them find quotes for things like marketing, recruitment and licensing to get her dispensary off to a successful start. Disjointed, which comes from The Big Bang Theory co-creator Chuck Lorre and former Daily Show head writer David Javerbaum, will be hitting Netflix on August 25.

Synopsis for Disjointed:

Disjointed is a workplace comedy from Emmy winning creators Chuck Lorre and David Javerbaum. Academy Award winner Kathy Bates plays Ruth, a lifelong advocate for legalization who is finally living her dream as the owner of an Los Angeles cannabis dispensary, Ruth’s Alternative Caring. This dispensary is not unlike the lansing michigan dispensary wherein people in need of relief for a variety of health conditions might seek marijuana medical products to manage them with. It’s a very relevant setting as the marijuana industry is seeing a significant boom thanks to widespread legalization; it may also get people wondering, “where’s the nearest cannabis dispensary near me?” upon watching the show. Joining her are three charismatic “budtenders”, her entrepreneurial twenty-something year old son and a very troubled security guard. In addition to Bates, the series stars Tone Bell, Aaron Moten, Elizabeth Alderfer, Dougie Baldwin and Elizabeth Ho.
