Whoa! Talk about an ensemble.
Quite the Hollywood line-up has signed on for Don’t Look Up, a Netflix comedy film from The Big Short and Vice filmmaker Adam McKay. Joining previously announced cast members Jennifer Lawrence and Rob Morgan in the comedy are, wait for it, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet, Jonah Hill, Himesh Patel, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi and Matthew Perry.
All of them… in one movie.
Also, it arguably marks DiCaprio’s first actual comedy, although The Wolf of Wall Street and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood both had strong comedic elements.
Don’t Look Up‘s plot will follow two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an impending asteroid that could destroy the planet. There’s no official confirmation on who’s playing who in the film, although a number of outlets are saying that Lawrence and DiCaprio may be playing the astronomers.
McKay, whose credits include Will Ferrell comedy hits Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Step Brothers and The Other Guys, will be directing from his own screenplay and will be producing via his Hyperobject Industries banner with Kevin Messick.
Cameras on Don’t Look Up are expected to begin rolling before the year ends. Can’t wait to see what’s in store here.
