‘Dr. Brain’ Trailer Unveils Apple’s Mind-Bending South Korean Series from ‘I Saw the Devil’ Director

The official trailer has arrived for Dr. Brain, Apple TV+’s upcoming South Korean series from acclaimed filmmaker Kim Jee-woon.

Based on a Korean animated web series of the same name, Dr. Brain has Parasite actor Lee Sun-kyun playing a brain scientist embarking on hugely experimental procedures. After his family is taken from him in a mysterious accident, he begins to conduct “brain syncs” that allows him to access the memories of the dead. As he attempts to gather clues, it becomes clear that these so-called syncs may be affecting his own brain in ways he hadn’t predicted.

The series is directed, written and executive produced by Kim Jee-woon, whose credits include 2003 horror film A Tale of Two Sisters, gritty-as-hell 2010 thriller I Saw the Devil (seriously, catch this one if you still haven’t), wild 2008 action-comedy The Good the Bad the Weird, and 2013 Arnold Schwarzenegger film The Last Stand.

This intriguing-looking mind-bender marks the first South Korean series for Apple. With Netflix continuing to enjoy huge success with their Korean content (Squid Game, much?), expect more streamers to show interest in content from that side of the world.

Dr. Brain, also starring Lee You-young, Park Hee-soon, Seo Ji-hye, and Lee Jae-won, will premiere on Apple TV+ on November 4, with episodes released weekly thereafter (six in total).
