‘Dual’: Karen Gillan to Battle Her Clone in Sci-Fi Movie with Aaron Paul

Sony Pictures

Guardians of the Galaxy and Jumanji star Karen Gillan will be playing two roles in an upcoming sci-fi thriller titled Dual

The film will have Gillan playing a woman who is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Wanting to ease her loss on friends and family, she decides to get a cloning procedure. Things take quite the turn – and the film’s title unveils its double meaning – after she makes a miraculous recovery and attempts to have her clone decommissioned: the court rules that she and her clone must have a duel to the death. Because of course!

Dual will also be starring Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Westworld), Beulah Koale (Hawaii Five-O), and Martha Kelly (Marriage Story), with Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland: Double Tap) poised to make an appearance.

The film is to be directed by Riley Stearns, who previously helmed the Eisenberg-starring dark comedy-thriller The Art of Self-Defense and the small 2014 crime comedy Faults. Stearns also penned the screenplay.

Cameras are lined up to start rolling on Dual in the next few months. This craziness permitting, of course.
