Aardman, the stop-motion animation studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, is delivering a prehistoric-set new film with Early Man.
The first teaser trailer has dropped for the upcoming film, which tells the story of courageous caveman hero Dug (voiced by Eddie Redmayne) and his best friend Hognob as they unite his tribe against a mighty enemy, Lord Nooth (Tom Hiddleston), and his Bronze Age City to save their home.

Aardman and StudioCanal today announced a number of new voice cast members joining Redmayne, Hiddlestone and Game of Thrones actress Maise Williams. The voice cast now includes Timothy Spall, Richard Ayoade, Selina Griffits, Johnny Vegas, Mark Williams, Gina Yahsere, Simon Greenall and Richard Webber.
Director Nick Park, who’s credits include Wallace and Gromit shorts Creature Comforts and The Wrong Trousers, as well as features Chicken Run and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, shed some light on who the new cast members will be voicing:
“Today we get to meet Dug’s tribe, a loveable bunch of misfits voiced by some exceptional British talent. They’re essentially a group of inept cavemen and women including Treebor, played by Richard Ayoade, a gentle giant scared of his own shadow; Magma, Treebor’s no nonsense mother voiced by Selena Griffiths and Mark Williams as Barry, whose best friend is a rock. Chief Bobnar, voiced by the brilliant Timothy Spall, leads the pack as their long-suffering leader and father figure to his tribe of idiotic brutes.”
Early Man is currently filming in Bristol, England. The film will open in the UK on January 26, 2018 and arrives in Australia on March 29, 2018.
