De-Ageing Effects for Eminem to Play White Boy Rick in 50 Cent’s Series ‘BMF’

Universal Pictures

Rap superstar and 8 Mile actor Eminem finally has his second official acting role (not counting Judd Apatow’s Funny People, where he made an appearance playing a version of himself) on the horizon thanks to 50 Cent.

Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, has been cast in BMF, the Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson-exec produced Starz series telling the story of how Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory formed a criminal empire in Detroit known as the Black Mafia Family.

Eminem will have a guest star role as none other than White Boy Rick, aka Richard Wershe Jr., who became an FBI informant at age 14 and helped secure around 20 convictions, until the FBI dropped him at age 17. He was subsequently arrested for cocaine possession and given a life sentence, although managed to be released in 2020 for good behaviour.

50 Cent took to social media to share the news, posting, “Oh yeah i’m bringing the big dogs out, I couldn’t do a show based in Detroit without incorporating the legend @eminem.”

And in another post, 50 Cent shed light on how exactly 48-year-old Eminem will play a much younger person.

“I directed BMF EPISODE 7 it is amazing. I used the same digital de aging special effects they used in The Irishman. To take @eminem back to his teenage years.”

Richie Merritt previously played Richard Wershe Jr. in the 2018 film White Boy Rick, which also starred Matthew McConaughey as his father, Richard.

BMF, with a cast that includes Russell Hornsby, Steve Harris, and Demetrius Flenory Jr. (playing his father, ‘Big Meech’), with Snoop Dogg, Kash Doll and Wood Harrison among those in recurring roles, will premiere on Starz on September 26th.
