‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’ Trailer: Zac Efron is Serial Killer Ted Bundy

Voltage Pictures

Check out the trailer released for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, an upcoming film that finds Zac Efron playing infamous serial killer Ted Bundy.

The film follows Bundy’s story from the point of view of Liz Kloepfer (Lily Collins), the sociopath’s longtime girlfriend that went from denial to being forced to confront the fact that this man could actually be responsible for a number of shocking atrocities.

Bundy was a handsome, charming individual who eventually admitted to killing 30 people (mostly young women), but the true number is believed to have been much higher. He’s considered to be one of the most notorious serial killers in history, and a quick look at his Wikipedia page will provide those unaware with some disturbing details as to why.

It could prove to be quite the role for Efron, who looks to be fitting the part perfectly. The High School Musical alum has earned praise from the critics following the film’s Sundance Film Festival premiere, although the film as a whole has so far received mixed reactions. For now, count us firmly in.

Directed by Joe Berlinger, who has a background in documentaries with credits including Metallica: Some Kind of Monster and the Oscar nominated Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory.

Also starring Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich and Jim Parsons, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will be released later this year.
