‘Fast 8’ Behind the Scenes Video Shows Off Cuban Shoot

Fast 8 is currently shooting on location in Havana, Cuba, and it looks like the cast and crew are having a pretty good time so far.

An official behind-the-scenes video was posted up on Instagram, showing off the legitimately history-making production. Fast 8 is the first big budget Hollywood picture to be filmed in Cuba since relations between the country and the U.S. started to improve.

“You can feel the emotion from all of the locals. We couldn’t recreate this…anywhere,” says director F. Gary Gray, who was at the helm of last year’s successful music biopic Straight Outta Compton.

Apart from Cuba, Fast 8‘s country-hopping schedule includes New York, as evidenced by that first poster, and Iceland, which will see one hell of a explosion.

Fast 8, starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Statham, Lucas Black, and Kurt Russell, with Charlize Theron on board as a big new villain and Scott Eastwood as protégé to Russell’s Mr. Nobody, will be hitting the U.S. on April 14, 2017.
