‘Fighting with My Family’ Trailer: Dwayne Johnson Has Advice for Aspiring Wrestlers in Stephen Merchant Comedy

Universal Pictures Australia

Take a look at the first trailer released for Fighting with My Family, an upcoming feel-good underdog film produced by and co-starring Dwayne Johnson.

Directed and written by Stephen Merchant, the film follows a wrestling-loving family who find themselves facing the big time when the daughter and son, played by Florence Pugh and Jack Lowden, are given the chance to try out for the WWE. Based on the journey of real-life WWE professional wrestler Paige.

This British-US co-production looks like a solid crowd pleaser, mashing up that Merchant humour with cheer-inducing underdog sensibilities. We’ll see just how much Johnson has to do here, but if his moments in the trailer below are indication, he’ll be a winning extra touch. The solid cast also includes Nick Frost, Lena Headey, and Vince Vaughn.

Fighting with My Family will be opening in US cinemas on February 22, 2019 and arrives in Australia on April 4, 2019.
