‘Finch’ Trailer: Tom Hanks, a Dog & a Robot in Apple’s Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Movie

Apple TV+

The official trailer has arrived for Finch, the second Apple TV+ original feature led by Tom Hanks following his WII film Greyhound.

The sci-fi film has Hanks playing Finch, a man living in a post-apocalyptic world that was left decimated by a solar flare. After befriending a dog and building an android called Jeff (played by Caleb Landry Jones, Get Out), Finch and his two buddies embark on a perilous journey through an unstable environment to find a new home.

This marks just the second feature for director Miguel Sapochnik, who went on to direct television (Banshee, Altered Carbon, Game of Thrones) after his 2010 feature debut, the bloody Jude Law and Forest Whitaker sci-fi flick Repo Men. Finch‘s screenplay comes from Ivor Powell (the first feature script from the associate producer behind Ridley Scott films Alien and Blade Runner) and Craig Luck.

In true Hanks fashion, this looks a heartwarming adventure – even with that oh-so depressing setting. Looking forward to it. Finch will be streaming on Apple TV+ from November 5th.
