First ‘Frozen 2’ Trailer Teases the Next Chapter

Walt Disney Pictures

Disney has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to 2013 hit Frozen (it’s been six years!?)

Frozen 2 is on the way, and our first taste has arrived in the form of a very effective teaser trailer that features a sequence with Elsa (Idina Menzel) attempting an ocean walk. There’s a clear season change on offer this time around, as evidence by the beautiful Autumn landscape. It’s a rousing look at the film.

The first film’s Oscar-winning creative team are back on board. Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee return at the helm, with Lee (sole writer on the first) this time writing with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures, Christopher Robin). Returning voice cast members include Kristen Bell (Anna), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Josh Gad (Olaf).

We’re excited for what’s in store here. No doubt Disney would be aiming high following the massive hit that was the first film, which became the highest-grossing animated film of all time with a draw of $US1.26 billion worldwide. Not to mention how much money that soundtrack would have juiced. Who knows what the next “Let It Go” will be.

Frozen 2
will be hitting US cinemas on November 22 and Australia cinemas on December 26.

Frozen 2‘s official logline:

From the Academy Award®-winning team—directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and producer Peter Del Vecho—and featuring the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, and the music of Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.
