It’s the kind of news that is becoming increasingly less surprising.
As The Angry Birds Movie starts its worldwide rollout, news comes through that a Fruit Ninja movie has been put into development.
THR is reporting that producer Tripp Vinson (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, San Andreas) has put the wheels in motion for a Fruit Ninja film, set up under the producer’s Vinson Films production banner.
Attached to write the feature is J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani, who also recently signed up to adapt Chuck Sambuchino humour book How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack, “a survival guide that will help you prevent, prepare for, and ward off an imminent home invasion by the common garden gnome.” Robert Zemeckis is behind that one.
The Fruit Ninja movie is being described as “a live-action family comedy,” although no other plot details have been released at this time.
Also in development: A trilogy based off the Tetris video game.
