Furious 7 Super Bowl Trailer Kicks Vehicular Ass

The Furious 7 Super Bowl trailer has dropped, and yes, it’s freakin’ awesome.

Statham plays Deckard Shaw, brother of Luke Evans’s Shaw from Furious 6. Deckard is understandably upset with Shaw’s death in the last film, so he’s determined to take out Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and co. by any means necessary. There’s more to the plot than that, but who ultimately cares. Vehicular mayhem and action, that’s what we want.

It’s only a minute long, but this trailer will have fans of the franchise counting the seconds till the movie’s release. The action looks to be bigger and more ridiculous than before, and that’s saying something. Director Justin Lin pushed the franchise into a cheeky, decidedly action-packed position, so it’s going to be interesting to see what horror guru James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring) delivers.

Starring (deep breath) Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky, Lucas Black, Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell.
