It goes without saying, BUT, if you still haven’t seen episode 3 of Game of Thrones‘ eighth season, well… spoilers ahead.
The Long Night (episode 3’s title) has come… and gone. After so long, it at least appears that the White Walkers have actually been defeated. The battle was exhausting, dramatic, surprising, and yeah, freakin’ awesome. Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), take a bow.
“We have won the Great War,” says Daenerys Targarian (Emilia Clarke) in the short but highly exciting trailer released for episode 4. “Now we will win the Last War.” Perhaps the Queen of Dragons will have more of her doubters – including Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) – on her side following their success; we get a shot of what looks like a cheer of support as they prep for a showdown with Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), who’s now partnered with Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk).
Episode 3 was a monumental chapter. In terms of losses, the episode had us saying goodbye to a few beloved characters; one can only dread who else will be meeting their end before the final credits roll. Three. Episodes. Left.
