Sony has unveiled a big new trailer for Ghostbusters, the upcoming reboot starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth.
That first trailer certainly got a lot of hate; in fact, it’s the most ‘disliked’ movie trailer of all time. Unfortunately, if you were one of those that hit that thumbs down button, chances are you’ll be hitting that very same button for this one.
The tone and comedic beats are basically the same and Leslie Jones gets more of a spotlight, which will either make it a little better or much worse depending on how you feel about the comedian. We’re also given more of the film’s plot, including a look a Chris Hemsworth’s character possessed, more Slimer, and a look at the new Stay Puft Marshmallow Man destroying New York City.
It looks like the internet is coming out with fists swinging for this trailer as well, so it’ll be interesting to see whether Sony surprises everyone with a great movie, or if people hit the cinema to bother checking it out at all.
Ghostbusters will open in Australia on July 14 and the U.S. on July 15.
