The first teaser trailer has been released for Glassland, an upcoming drama starring Toni Collette and Jack Reynor. The two leads star as mother and son, with Reynor’s John getting tangled up in the world of human trafficking while trying to save his mother from addiction. It certainly sounds like a strong story, and the teaser trailer provides a quick feel of the film’s uneasy tone. Writer-director Gerard Barrett took home the Rising Star Award at last year’s Irish Film and Television Awards for his feature debut Pilgrim Hill. We haven’t seen that film yet, but we’ve heard pretty impressive things. Collette is nearly always good value and it’s going to be interesting to see Reynor, who can currently be seen in Transformers: Age of Extinction, in a down-to-earth, gritty role.
Glassland also stars Will Poulter and Michael Smiley.
