It’s been a while now that Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween looked to be arriving without Jack Black on board.
Well, Sony’s obviously decided to forego a surprise appearance from the actor in the sequel in favour of attracting more audience members. Black’s back as R.L. Stine in Goosebumps 2: Haunted Mansion, which finds some new kids unleashing the creatures from the author’s works.
The new marketing piece below has no qualms unveiling Black’s return, after avoiding even mentioning his role since trailers started dropping. Black hadn’t even been named on the cast listing – until now. It’s certainly spoiled the big surprise that could have been when watching the film, but confirming that Black does make an appearance – even if it’s a small one – does make this follow-up a little more exciting.
Ari Sandal (The Duff, When We First Met) directs Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween from a screenplay by Peter Rabbit scribe Rob Lieber. Also starring Wendi McLendon-Covey, Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Caleel Harris, Chris Parnell, and Ken Jeong, the film be hitting US cinemas on 12 October and opens wide in Australia on 25 October.
Halloween comes to life in a brand-new comedy adventure based on R.L. Stine’s 400-million-selling series of books.
