Take a look at the first trailer for Happy Death Day, an upcoming Blumhouse horror-thriller that has one college girl living out the day of her murder over and over again.
Yep, it’s a loop day movie, although this one’s focused on a college girl, played by Jessica Rothe (La La Land), who finds herself reliving the day her life is taken at the hands of a masked killer. This could be a fun little slasher pic with a twist, even if what the trailer offers up below feels a little too familiar. Fingers crossed.
Christopher Landon, known for Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Lobdell.
Happy Death Day is scheduled to open in Australia on October 12 and will hit the U.S. on October 13.
Blumhouse (Split, Get Out, Whiplash) produces an original and inventive rewinding thriller in Happy Death Day, in which a college student (Jessica Rothe, La La Land) relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.
