The first trailer has arrived for Hawkeye, the upcoming Disney+ series that finds Jeremy Renner’s Marvel marksman teaming up with Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld.

Tonally, this trailer is a bit of a surprise. Get ready for a Christmas series! Yep, Hawkeye is set in post-blip New York City and has Clint Barton trying to get back to his family for Christmas – a mission that may be a little tough to complete with a presence from Barton’s past in the picture. Barton finds himself forced to work with Kate, a 22-year-old superhero wannabe described, at least by her, as “the world’s greatest archer”.

Marvel Studios has been on quite the run thus far with WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and What If?…; fingers crossed Hawkeye hits the bullseye. At least from the trailer below, it looks like a ton of fun, with a calculated holiday season angle for its November drop. Plus, there’s a dog! Unsurprisingly, with a few months of marketing still to come, don’t expect an appearance from Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova quite yet.

The series was created by Jonathan Igla, whose credits include writing on Mad Men and co-executive producing Netflix hit Bridgerton. Episodes were directed by Rhys Thomas (Saturday Night Live, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and directing duo Bert and Bertie (The Great, Kidding).

Also starring Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, Hawkeye hits Disney+ on November 24th.
