‘Helstrom’ Trailer Unleashes Hulu’s Marvel Horror Series

Hulu has released the trailer for Helstrom, an upcoming horror adventure series based on Marvel Comics characters Daimon and Satana Hellstrom.

Created by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Lost writer Paul Zbyszewski, the series follows Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon), siblings with dark powers that hunt the worst of humanity. Oh, and their mother (Elizabeth Marvel) is possessed by a powerful evil entity that’s made her a serial killer.

There’s the source material and the fact that it’s co-produced by Marvel Television, and yet, surprisingly, there’s no Marvel logo anywhere to be seen in the marketing. Does it suggest they’re distancing themselves? Hard to say right now.

It’s interesting to note, however, that Helstrom was originally intended to be a part of Marvel’s “Adventures into Fear” franchise announced in 2019, which would have also housed the once-planned Ghost Rider series among its shows. That whole banner was scrapped when Marvel TV folded into Marvel Studios, Jeph Loeb moved on, and Kevin Feige was moved up as overall overseer.

What do you think of the trailer? Helstrom, also starring Elizabeth Marvel, Robert Wisdom, June Carryl, Ariana Guerra, and Alain Uy, will be premiering on Hulu on October 16th.
