The trailer has arrived for House of Gucci, one of two Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, The Martian) films set to hit cinemas this year.
The film tells the true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci, with Lady Gaga playing Patrizia Reggiani, an affluent Italian socialite and fashion personality who was eventually convicted of planning the assassination of her ex-husband, former Gucci head Maurizio Gucci, played by Adam Driver. The film also stars Jared Leto (almost unrecognisable as businessman and Gucci design chief Paolo Gucci), Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston, Reeve Carney, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino.
Scott directed from a screenplay by Becky Johnston (The Prince of Tides, Seven Years in Tibet) and Roberto Bentivegna, who together adapted Sara Gay Forden’s 2001 book The House Of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.
Covid-caused delays have led to us receiving two Scott-directed pictures this year. This October we have The Last Duel, which also has Adam Driver and features a cast that includes Jodie Comer, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
House of Gucci will be in US cinemas on November 24th and Australian cinemas on November 25th. Watch the trailer and take a look at the film’s character posters beneath it.
