The First Trailer Has Arrived for Amazon’s ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Series

That’s right, there’s an I Know What You Did Last Summer series on the way to Amazon Prime Video.

To be clear, this isn’t exactly a remake of the 1997 slasher hit, but another adaptation (a series one this time) of the 1973 novel of the same name by author Lois Duncan that the film was based on. Amazon has dropped a teaser trailer for the series, which, if you didn’t know about the slasher element and went into the teaser with no knowledge, you’d be forgiven for thinking this was just another of the many young-adults-acting-naughty shows out there.

Parties, questionable behaviour, experimenting, jealousy… oh, and then they run over someone. It doesn’t take long for them to learn that a killer out there knows their little secret. Not sure if this was the right way to kick off marketing, but it is a teaser, after all, so we’ll see how the killer narrative and slasher tension is juggled with the clear focus on YA drama.

The series adaptation is written and executive produced by Sarah Goodman, with an executive producer team that includes Neal H. Moritz, Erik Feig, and James Wan, among others. This is the second trailer for a Wan-produced project this week – also check out the trailer for the I Know What You Did Last Summer-esque Netflix horror film There’s Someone Inside Your House.

Starring Madison Iseman, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, and Brooke Bloom, I Know What You Did Last Summer will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 15th. New episodes will be airing each Friday following, leading up to the season finale on November 12th.
