Jason Isaacs to Play WWII Tank Captain in Fury

Jason Isaacs

Jason Isaacs has joined the cast of Fury, the upcoming World War 2 thriller from writer-director David Ayer (Harsh Times, Street Kings, End of Watch ). Set in April 1945, Fury will follow a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines as the Allies make their final push to end the war.

Fury stars Brad Pitt as the battle-hardened sergeant ‘Wardaddy’, who will lead Isaacs, and all star cast that includes Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Michael Pena, into the heart of Nazi Germany. Isaacs will play the veteran of the team, a confident captain that Pitt seeks counsel from.

Having read my fair share of war stories, I think it’s safe to say that being in a tank is amongst the most horrifying ways you could find yourself fighting the good fight. With Wardaddy and his crew “Outnumbered and outgunned” in an “incredible story of sacrifice and heroism”, it’s probably safe to say Fury is going to be tense as hell.

Fury is currently in production in London.

Scheduled for release in the United States on November 14, 2014.
