John Diggle could soon be leading his own chapter of the “Arrowverse”.

A new series in The CW’s DC television universe – which includes the now-finished Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Superman & Lois, among others – has gone into development. The potential series is to be led by David Ramsey, who has played John Thomas Diggle, aka Spartan, since being introduced in Arrow‘s pilot episode back in 2012.

As reported by Variety, the Warner Bros. Television series in the works is Justice U, which will be based on various characters from the DC pantheon. The plot will have Diggle on a mission to find young meta humans to go undercover as freshmen at a prestigious university. He oversees their education and training with a plan to make them tomorrow’s heroes.

If this goes ahead, Ramsey will also be on board to direct Justice U‘s pilot episode as part of a directing deal made with Berlanti Productions. Ramsey, who will continue on as John Diggle in various episodes of this universe, will also be directing an unknown number of episodes across the various shows. He’s already directed seven.

Justice U will be written and executive produced by Superman and Lois co-executive producer Michael Narducci and Grey’s Anatomy executive producer Zoanne Clack. Stay tuned.
