20th Century Fox has unveiled the very first trailer for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s surprise 2014 hit.
Taron Egerton returns as bad-boy-gone-secret agent Eggsy, who is in for one hell of a mission when the Kingsman headquarters are destroyed and the world is taken hostage. The UK intelligence agency is forced to team with up with US spy organisation, Statesmen, to take a down a ruthless new enemy and save the world.
The first film was a downright fun action-adventure, boasting a cracking sense of humour and over-the-top violence. Director Vaughn, whose credits also include Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, knows how to deliver a good time with heavy doses of crazy, and it looks like he’s set to deliver again in the sequel.
The first trailer is careful not to give away much in plot, which is always a welcome move for early trailers, and instead focuses on the film’s wild tone, slick-looking action and all-star cast. And, of course, there’s the return of a familiar face.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which brings back Mark Strong and introduces Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Vinnie Jones, Poppy Delevingne and Elton John (!), will open in the US on September 22 and arrives Down Under on September 28.
