Kon-Tiki Directors Chosen for Pirates of the Caribbean 5

The fifth installment of the blockbuster franchise Pirates of the Caribbean has been appointed a duo directing team. Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg recently gained a great deal of attention for their action-adventure film Kon-Tiki and are now at the helm of the fifth film in this successful franchise.

The duo are very lucky to have beaten many big-name directors seeing as they only have two other co-directed features under their belts, Bandidas and Max Manus: Man of War.

Jeff Nathanson, the writer of Catch Me If You Can, Tower Heist, Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3, is rewriting the screenplay of which the plot is still unknown. Production is slated to begin in January 2014.

Johnny Depp will return as the charismatic Jack Sparrow and we look forward to seeing who else jumps on board for the fifth edition.
