An upcoming Hulu series will have Lily James and Sebastian Stan playing Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, respectively, and will have Seth Rogen playing the guy who stole their infamous sex tape.
The project is Pam & Tommy, an 8-episode limited series that Rogen is producing with his Point Grey banner partner Evan Goldberg. The pair came up with the idea. On board to direct is Craig Gillespie, whose credits include Margot Robbie-starring I, Tonya, Ryan Gosling pic Lars and the Real Girl, and Chris Pine-starring rescue film The Finest Hours. The screenplay comes from The Wrestler and The Founder scribe Rob Siegel.
Deadline broke the news, reporting that the series will be looking at the relationship that unfolded between the Baywatch star and the Mötley Crüe drummer, who were married after around 96 hours of getting to know one other. A major part of the plot will focus on their leaked honeymoon sex tape, which led to a legal battle as Anderson sued distributor Internet Entertainment Group. Eventually, Pam and Tommy signed a confidential settlement that saw the tape made legally available.
Pam and Tommy are reportedly not involved in the making of the series, although have been aware of it since James signed up to play Anderson earlier this year.
James will next be seen in Netflix film The Dig, also starring Ralph Fiennes and Carey Mulligan and set for a January 29th release. Stan will next be seen in Jessica Chastain-led action-thriller The 355, releasing in mid-January, and is reprising his MCU role as Bucky Barnes in upcoming Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
