‘Love Hard’ Trailer: Nina Dobrev Gets Catfished in Netflix Rom-Com

If you’re after a holiday season rom-com towards the end of the year, perhaps Love Hard may be one to look out for.

Netflix has dropped the trailer for the film, which finds Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries, xXx: Return of Xander Cage) playing Natalia, a young LA woman who falls for an East Coast guy (Darren Barnet, Never Have I Ever) on a dating app. She decides, as you do, to travel to his house and surprise him, only to discover that she’s been catfished by none other than her childhood friend, Josh (Jimmy O. Yang, Space Force). As it turns out, the original heartthrob she was after does actually live in this town. So, Josh offers to help her get the guy, if she pretends to be his girlfriend for the holidays.

This light-looking flick comes from director Hernan Jimenez, a Costa Rican filmmaker who has a number of small-scale films on his resume, including his 2019 English-language debut, dramedy Elsewhere. The screenplay is by Daniel Mackey and Rebecca Ewing.

For those after an easy, feel-good watch, there’s the potential for a comfy charmer here. Take a look at the trailer below and, if you dig what you see, mark the date: Love Hard will be streaming on Netflix from November 5th.
