Maggie Trailer: Abigail Breslin is Arnold Schwarzegger’s Zombie Daughter

Roadside Attractions has just dropped the first trailer for Maggie, giving us our first look at the upcoming horror-drama starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Berslin.

The film sees Breslin play Maggie, a girl who falls victim to a widespread zombie epidemic. As her infection worsens, her father (Schwarzenegger) refuses to give up hope, protecting her from authorities aiming to stop the virus and taking care of her as her humanity disappears.

We’re digging the concept of a dramatic, more character-driven take on the zombie film, and are interested in seeing Schwarzenegger flex some of those acting muscles. His action “come-back” hasn’t gone very well and Breslin hasn’t had an impressive film since she was much younger, so here’s hoping this one’s a winner.

Maggie premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 22 and hits the U.S. on a limited run from May 8.

Official synopsis for Maggie:

There’s a deadly zombie epidemic threatening humanity, but Wade (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a small-town farmer and family man, refuses to accept defeat even when his daughter Maggie (Abigail Breslin) becomes infected. As Maggie’s condition worsens and the authorities seek to eradicate those with the virus, Wade is pushed to the limits in an effort to protect her. Joely Richardson co-stars in this post-apocalyptic thriller.
