The still-untitled next project from the Moonrise Kingdom and Grand Budapest Hotel filmmaker has lined up Anderson regulars Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, and Adrien Brody. And, also in his first Anderson role, Oscar winner Tom Hanks is also on board.
THR broke the news of Robbie’s casting, reporting that while overall details are still being kept under wraps, the Aussie star’s role is expected to be “supporting in nature”.
There’s little so far to go on regarding this picture, which Anderson is to direct from a screenplay that he wrote. There’s rumours that it’s a love story set in Europe. Cameras on the film are to start rolling in Spain later this month.
Before we see what Anderson has in store with Robbie and Hanks, we still have to see his most recent star-studded effort, The French Dispatch. That film will be released in the US on October 22nd and in Australia on November 11th.
Robbie’s recent credits include Birds of Prey, Bombshell and movie-of-the-moment The Suicide Squad. Her upcoming films include the Greta Gertwig-directed Barbie; Damien Chazelle-directed film Babylon, reuniting her with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star Brad Pitt; and David O. Russell’s still-untitled next film, set to also star Christian Bale, Anya Taylor-Joy and Robert De Niro, among others.
