After playing Black Widow in six Marvel movies, it appears that Scarlett Johansson may finally be getting her own chapter.

Marvel is reportedly moving forward with the project, hiring screenwriter Jac Shaeffer to pen the screenplay.

Schaeffer’s debut was 2009 romantic comedy TiMER, which she wrote, directed and produced. She’s also written Black List script The Shower, which tells of an alien invasion that goes down during a baby shower. Anne Hathaway was attracted to that one, and soon chose Schaeffer to pen a female-centric update of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels titled Nasty Women (Hathaway and Rebel Wilson are set to star).

According to Variety, while Marvel is yet to give a Black Widow movie the offical go-ahead, hiring a writer is a big step there. Furthermore, the studio has apparently met with Johansson “to discuss what they wanted from a Black Widow writer.” We’re trying to keep our expectations in check, but seriously: it’s sounding pretty good, right? Stay tuned.

Johansson’s Black Widow will next appear in the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War, which arrives in Australia on April 25 and opens in the US on May 4.
